Hi

You understand correctly, but as Tom stated this is a do it yourself job =
Elecraft cannot support the remote mounting of the power amp because of F=
CC rules (you can thank our CB "friends" for that) =20

You will need the K2 with the KIO2 and if you like the KAT2 and KBT2 for =
portable operation. The KAT100-2, KPA100 and EC2 for the shack. You may w=
ant the tilt stand for the EC2 so it will match the K2, it does not come =
with it.

The KAT100-2 comes with punched and silk screened front and rear panels f=
or the EC2 - KAT100 combination.

I am planning to build one like this (as well as one in the "-1" configur=
ation)

 to mount the atu and the amp in a another case and keep it on the bench =
then build the k2 with the qrp tuner and battery option inside so that th=
e k2 can go portable qrp when you want and for base it can be qro if desi=

I fixing to order a complete k2 with all the goodies just trying to decid=
e which goodies to get with it.

Yes the KAT100 was designed with this in mind as one of the options

I have seen the question asked several times, but don't recall seeing an
answer.  Will the KPA100 and the KAT100 go into the EC2 enclosure
gracefully?  I would like to keep my K2 as-is (i.e. with the KAT2) but
have the utility of QRO operation if desired.
