     I went for a hybrid approach.  I used one magnet inside the K1 and
one magnet in the mount to secure the front of the key holder.  To support
the rear, I ran a screw through the hole for the stand:

     Works fb.  OTOH, I've found that I don't actually operate directly
from the K1 all that much.  It spends most of its time bedside wired to a
free standing a Twinkey, and in the field I end up putting my palm paddles
on a short extension and just holding them to my notepad while keying.  
'Course I rarely operate from a table of any sort -- I'm usually in a tent
or sitting on a fallen tree :).
