I hope you missed something Martin.  Otherwise, it sounds like a bad idea
to me.  I quite often set the keyer speed to 20wpm or so and use the
"dit" to tune up my amplifier.  (much less duty cycle than the
"TUNE" button)  If I understand (or misunderstand) the same you do, this
will cause my AMP to key/unkey with every "dit".  I can see this seriously
reducing the Mean Time Between Failure on the keying relay in the AMP.

Someone please tell me that we've misunderstood what was being asked.
