I notice that whenever the OP1 filter is used, whether in LSB/USB or CW
mode, the S-meter in the 40, 30, 20, and 17 meter bands will show 2-3
bars lit, while when the the CW filter is used (e.g. in 1.8 kHz
bandwidth in LSB/USB mode), it will not display anything at all.

Is this the effect you are describing?
