Perhaps he was thinking of the closeout price of the IC756PRO (after
the PROII was introduced), which was ~$1900. This was a good price,
but not really suitable for a comparison.
Actually a better price for a comparable K2 would be $1493 (K2, KPA100,
KAT100-1, KSB2, MH2, K160RX, KNB2 and KAF2). The only $89 option
(bringing the total to $1582) is the KIO2, which would not be needed
with a KPA100.
