Well, during the CQWW contest, I occasionally heard some interesting
DX up at the high end of the band using my RIT. Shame there's no
RIT/XIT at the same time! ;-)
Anyway that is one reason for the wider range. I am considering swapping
parts just for that reason. The tuning will not be as fine, but it should
be adequate.
My 80 kHz range gives me about 8 kHz per revolution of the tuning knob.
Can someone please post what they get with 150 kHz range? Thanks.
One "con" to doing this is the transmit output may not be as linear across
150 kHz.
