I have the same problem with local BC stations and I have an Autek.  I went nuts
until I figured out what was going on.  

I think that Tim's problem is caused by the fact that the MP-1, being short
compared to the frequency, is a very high-Q system -- that's also the reason for
the narrow bandwidth of such antennas.  He is just going to have to keep the
antenna analyzer farther away from the antenna and walk back and forth between
adjustments.  At least he doesn't have to climb a tower!
