I just finished installing TF3MA's sidetone mod and I am very pleased
with the sound...I wasn't comfortable with cutting the trace leading from
C33 to U10-7, so I didn't...I had done the earlier sidetone mod and had
changed C33 from 2.2mfd to 4.7mfd...While installing TF3MA's mod I wanted
to change C33 back to 2.2mfd...Instead of mounting C33 in it's original
position on top of the board, I mounted it on the bottom flat against the
board and connected it in series with the 4.7mh choke...I soldered one
lead from the choke into the "+" hole for C33 and bent the choke down
against the board with it's top pointed toward the bottom edge of the
board...I soldered the "+" lead of the new C33 to the other lead of the
choke and soldered the negative lead of the new C33 into the negative
hole in the board for C33...C33 is installed flat against the board with
it's can pointing toward the top edge of the board, opposite to the
choke...Then I installed a 2.2mfd cap across pins 7 and 10 of RP5 to
finish the job...

Thanks, Marteinn...
