[Elecraft] K2 Keyer Weighting

I've not had occasion to use the built-in keyer since building my K2. 
Now, using new logging software, I find that I need to use it.  My 
immediate observation was that both the dit and dah characters are 
heavily weighted - this very obvious by ear.  Is there a way, either in 
software or by hardware modification, to set the keyer to proper weighting?
