Have you thought of Mag. loop antennas?

I spent some time with Tony Johnston in the UK - the designer of the old
CAPCO range and I've seen his stuff  working DX under highly mettalic
conditions - eg in between a pile of aluminum tubing and a large metal lathe
(!)

Your 8ft high clearance would I think be large enough to handle a 6 foot
loop which would get you into 80m DX territory.
