Hi all,
           Just an observation.
Without naming anyone, there was a recent posting that indicated a K2
owner wasn't happy with the appearance of alterations he had made to his
set, keeping up with changes to enhance the performance.
To me, (and we are all different) any alterations I make that enhance my
radio's performance is perfectly acceptable, whether it sticks out like a
sore thumb or not.
Let's face it.....I use my radio with the lid on and I can't see any
"bumps" in it's beauty underneath.
I bet there are a lot of commercial rigs in use at present that have
alterations made on the assembly line that most owners are completely
unaware of....and does it upset the performance?...of course not.
Wayne and Eric have done an outstanding job bringing the K2 (and K1) into
being, and the small amount of mods that have been incorporated since it's
conception show just what a mighty engineering job they achieved. Even
more noteworthy with it being a kitset, and the possibility of less than
skilled persons assembling it, but still able to complete a World beating
tranceiver.
To me, my K2 with all the mods incorporated will work just as well as the
latest model, and I enjoyed putting them there.
Having said that there is also nothing wrong in selling what you aren't
100% happy with and building an "unspoilt" set.....I bet Wayne and Eric
don't mind anyway?
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.......so they tell me.....
Cheers......Ron ZL1TW
