[Elecraft] Dummy load for Part III

I am done with my dummy load :-)
I used male BNC to female PL-259  convertor to attach a PL-259 =
T-connector (male with 2 female conectors) to the K2. The dummy load is =
build from the T-Connector, using 20 pieces of 1/2 W 1kOm Resistors.
First i bended one of the leads of each resistor at 90 degerees, close =
to the body of the resistor, then i used 10 resistors and aranged them =
with all of the bended leads together in a star-shaped pattern (the =
bended leads were in the center and the straight leads were pointing =
away, it looked almost like a flower). Then i twised all the bended =
leads together and soldered them close to point of bending. Trimmed the =
twisted leads and inserted them in one of the 2 female center =
pin-receivers of the T-connector. Then i filled the pin-receiver with =
solder. Then i bended first every other resistor (total 5 of 10) and =
trimmed and soldered the free lead to the outside of the T-connector . =
Once that was done, i bended the rest of the resistors (the other 5) and =
soldered their leads to the outside, in the same manner but  giving them =
slightly wider angle, so they are spaced well for better cooling. Finaly =
i repeated the task for the other female side of the T-connector with =
another 10 resistors. Done.
It's 50 Ohm, and 10 W (20x 1/2W) low inductance due to use of metal-film =
resistors and its very comcat - it can be mounted on the back of the K2 =
with the mentioned above male BNC to female PL-259 convertor. No need =
for case  - all of the outside resistor leads and the resistors make a =
good shielding of the center part. The design is all mine, so if i am =
off track pls let me know.
I can post pictures and the RS part numbers. Takes about 20-30 min to =
build, costs about $10, and everything you  need is in your local RS =
store.
