[Elecraft] K1 memory keyer oddity

I have an odd problem.

My call sign ends in an 'X.'  When I program in a typical 3x3 CQ message on
my K1, the keyer fails to insert the space I leave after the 'X' ... it
doesn't do this after any other letter, only the X.

So, the 3 times I send my call, it sounds like they're all run together.  It
skips the space between the 'X' and the 'K.'

Can anyone else recreate this?  Am I imagining something?
