Hi

That was my suggestion to build a MFJ-4125 into an EC-2. I have a ruler a=
nd a MFJ-4125 and the one I have is 5 1/2 x 5 1/2 x 2 1/2" if you remove =
the rubber feet on the bottom. I use the MFJ-4225 (the one with meters) o=
n my bench to power radios and it works well and is very quiet. The only =
way I hear any RF hash is to lay a bare wire connected to the antenna on =
top of the power supply. The MFJ-4125 has the same circuit board as the M=
FJ-4225 just no meters and a smaller box. not only will it fit in an EC-2=
there is room for the 2.9 AH gel cell battery a digital voltmeter module=
and a solar panel controller. A little black paint and a K1 bezel over t=
he voltmeter cut out and it would match the K2/100. With this setup you c=
an run QRO from the power supply and automatically switch to QRP on the b=
attery and/or the solar panel if the power fails. Would make a nice rig w=
ith emergency backup or for those extra points on field day for battery o=
r solar power.

P.S. When I get some time I am planning to build this setup. I will take =
pictures.

Subject: [Elecraft] Does Anyone at MFJ Own A Ruler??

Someone on the list, sorry I don't remember who, was going
to build an MFJ-4125 switching supply into an EC-2 enclosure.
Sounded good to me so I took a look at the dimensions:

    MFJ web page: 5 3/4 W x 4 1/2 H x 6 D (clearly won't fit in an EC-2!)
    MFJ catalog: 5 1/2 W x 2 1/2 H x 5 3/4 D (fits just fine)
    MFJ catalog: 5 3/4 W x 3 H x 5 3/4 D (doesn't fit!)

The question is, which set of dimensions is correct if any?? Anyone REALL=
Y
know?
