[Elecraft] kpa100 causing K2 to be low on TX freq?

John,
From your numbers, it appears that your TX frequency is 1 kHz off - that is
quite a bit.
I would recommend that you first check to see if your BFO is on the correct
side of the carrier. Assuming a 500 Hz BFO offset, the transmit frequency
would be off by 1 kHz. This would be for CW
If the offset you are seeing is in LSB - look for something creating a
steady 1000 Hz tone - the carrier frequency should be pretty well nulled in
LSB, and you may be reading a carrier minus audio tone on your frequency
counter.
In addition, the KPA100 does introduce a mettalic shield between the base K2
and the amp. I would think that the shield could possibly introduce a
shift, but it should be seen in both the transmit and receive frequency. I
recall that the frequency will not be correct if CAL PLL is run with the
bottom cover removed.
That is the best guess that I can come up with right now.
