Hi
Several of the FT builders including me were going to mount the KPA100 in=
an EC-2. However most have changed their mind and will put it in the K2.=
The KPA100 is so well integrated with the K2, that after seeing and buil=
ding, it makes more sense to build it as designed. Maybe the ATU100 will =
fit in the EC-2 or it may be a totally different size who knows what Elec=
raft will surprise us with. Anyway Wayne and Eric say it won't be long in=
coming.

I don't recall seeing anything "official" on the form factor or size of t=
he
100 watt ATU yet.
Keep in mind that to meet FCC rules, Elecraft must sell the KPA100 as an
integral part of the K2, so they haven't had a lot to say about using it
outboard except that as long as it is connected to a K2, the KPA100 can b=
e
put in an external enclosure like the EC2 quite easily by most homebrewer=
s.
They know that a number of homebrewers are considering exactly the
configuration you have in mind: the KPA100 and 100 watt ATU in an EC2
enclosure. I'd be surprised if they didn't consider that in the ATU desig=
n.
