[Elecraft] K1 Drop testing: Need paint...

I may have mentioned that the K1 has been going skydiving with me. After
parachute opening, I lower a 65ft hanging wire with a little weight and h=
ave
a
couple minutes to try to make contacts ( made several so far ).

Anyway, K1 #1150 probably now holds the record for drop survival ( kinda)=
 it
separated from my harness on parachute opening shock at roughly 3500 ft. =
it
took three hours to find it under the tree it went through. =


Damages:

Shattered LCD, Tuning pot shaft broken off ( took a looong time to find t=
he
knob 30 feet away. ) slight but noticable front panel bend. That's it. Th=
e
goofy thing still works. I have to tune using tweezers to grab the shaft =
stub
and have no idea what frequency I'm on, but it works!

I straightened the panel pretty well, but will have to order a new pot an=
d
LCD.

Questions: =


Anybody know of a steel shafted pot that might replace the plastic one? =


Has anybody located a suitable touch-up paint for the cabinets??
