Hello All!
    One of my "money making" activities during High School years
was "building kits for fun & profit".  The "profit" wasn't phenomenal
but I did get some pocket money from it and purchased several
Heathkits with the proceeds.
    I have built many, many Heathkits, as well as stuff produced by EICO, Precise,
and a few other "also rans".  I must say that the quality of the one Elecraft kit's
bits and pieces that I have built was of a very high order.  The metalwork/paintwork
on the cabinet was excellent.  Quality of the PC boards is some of the best I
have worked with.  Clearly marked, MIL Spec quality, top grade laminate.
The kit was fairly easy to build, even for this old man whose vision isn't
what it used to be!  Not to mention arthritis in the thumbs!
    I look forward to seeing more products come from Elecraft and wish
them well in the future.  Who said kit building is a thing of the past
and that everything was going to be strictly SMD?
