[Elecraft] Offset question

I am a bit confused about the way the K2 handles the CW offset.  I am
not able to operate in CW Normal mode because my offset goes one way
while the other stations offset goes the other way.  However, if I
switch to CW Reverse, I can hear him but the reverse filter doesn't
sound as good as the normal filter.  Will I always have to switch to
reverse when I am talking with people whose rigs use the upper
sideband filters?  I also noticed that the 600hz pitch that I have
chosen in the menu is added to the receive frequency when I transmit
but it adds it instead of subtracting it in the reverse mode as well.
Is this correct?  I would measure my xmit frequency but I gave my freq
counter to the Boy Scouts two weekends ago (bad timing).
