Since I'm sure everyone at Elecraft is getting psyched/ready for Dayton =
I thought I'd toss this out to the list instead of sending it to Gary:
I just finished the 1st alignment & test (pg 44-46). Everything went =
just as the manual said it should with one exception:=20
No way could I get the freq counter to come anywhere close to 4000.00 by =
touching the left lead of the trimpot (C22). As long as I didn't pick =
up/hold the 'counter probe' it would read 0000.00 per the manual but as =
soon as I picked it up the (K2) freq counter would start reading around =
2.9(ish) Mhz. Touching the left side of C22 made no difference =
whatsoever.. still 2.9(ish) Mhz.
I feel confident I assembled the probe properly... kept leads of the =
10pf cap short, and everything else just per the manual. Well, I did use =
the whole piece of coax (i.e. not cutting it to 8").
Obviously the counter appears to be working (as indicated by a zero =
count with the probe laying 'idle'). And obviously everything else seems =
OK since I was able to play with the sidetone, align the bargraph, =
current test, etc.
Is this something I should troubleshoot now or (since everything seems =
to be working otherwise) just forgetabouddet for now? Should I make sure =
my bioimplant chip notes that I am resonating at 2.9 mHz?
tnx & 73
