Calibration notes for page 41 of the K1 manual
"Internally generated signal on 99.7" ???
My question was-- How accurate is the 99.7 internally generated
signal?
I used W1AW code practice on 14.047.50 for a frequency
marker and a Kenwood TS-850 for frequency calibration.
Both readouts are identical on the LCD display.

This signal is only as accurate as the 4.0MHz MCU clock crystal on the
front
panel PCB, which is not adjustable as it is in the K2. The CAL adjustment
also affects the LCD readout accuracy of this signal.
When doing CAL in the K1, I always use an external counter (or accurate
freq. reading rig) to calibrate the rig in transmit. The FCC does not
care
what freq you listen on, but they DO care what freq you transmit on. ;-)
