I believe there are about 50 field test units being built. Mine was one of two pre-FT editions, so N0SS and I had a week or two headstart on the rest of the FT group. You'll need to get Wayne or Eric to comment on the Dayton plans. The kinds of issues remaining seem to be firmware tweaks and documentation improvements. Personally, I'm jazzed by the amp so far. It works very well on both CW and SSB and contains numerous "Ah-hah! what a nifty idea!" design niceties as we have come to expect from Elecraft, especially in the area of integration between the QRP rig and the amp.

This is good news!!  Many of us have been waiting 2 years to "complete"
our k2s!  How many pre-production units are in the field? Are we still
on track for a release in the Dayton time frame?
