Hi, David,

I bought one of the original Millen R9er's in 1947. The device was
originally described in QST and then put into production by the Millen Co.
It consisted of a single 6AK5 broadband r-f amplifier with a plug-in coil
assembly for the appropriate frequency range. It really worked to increase
sensitivity, but the front end just collapsed if two strong signals came
on!   <:}
