Best idea is the real thing at http://www.matdepot.com/. More $ than your
wife's muffin pan, but if a person can spend a kilobuck on a kit, the cost
of a real antistatic work surface is very small by comparison. I bought the
AS09 pad in 2'x3' size plus the AA20 grounding kit. Pads are sold by the
foot, so you can get whatever size you need, and it can be trimmed with a
pair of heavy duty scissors if necessary. Not only is it the right stuff,
but it makes a great easy-on-the-eyes work surface, particularly in the
light blue color. Total was around $40 for everything, as I remember, and I
consider it money well spent for current and future building.
