[Elecraft] Expanding the range of the RIT/XIT on the K1

The K1 is already a fine contesting rig cleverly disguised as a backpacking 
machine.  I'd like to turn it into a DX catcher as well.  To do so, I need 
to heed the advice on page 55 of the Owner's Manual by increasing the value 
of C7 on the RF board, thereby increasing the offset range of the RIT/XIT.  
The value supplied for C7 on the RF Board is 39 pF.  In my rig, that gives 
me 3.4 kHz below and 3.7 kHz above the nominal frequency.  I'd like to push 
that to 10 or 12 kHz on the upper side.  I know that this modification will 
make RIT/XIT adjustment more critical.  I'm willing to sacrifice fine tuning 
for more range.  Can somebody suggest a new value for C7 in order to 
accomplish that?  Perhaps you can also offer other sage advice.
