Lots of kits available from a variety of sources.  To be very honest
with you,  if you can build any of those you can build a K-2.
Most of the folks here on the reflector have been through different
kits in the past and I think all will agree that Elecraft does the
absolute best job in preperation of the instruction manuals.
Certainly, you won't find any better support than is found here on the
reflector.
If you really want a warm-up kit then consider something like the WM-2
QRP wattmeter from Morse Express.  You will need it ( or something
like it )  as you assemble your radio anyway and it would be a good
tune up for your soldering skills.
My advise,   buy the K-2 and have fun building it:
