[Elecraft] Mobile advice?

Greetings:

Will a cigarette lighter adapter provide enough DC power for an Elecraft K2 to 
function on SSB mobile? I've got the sudden and unexpected task (opportunity?) 
of a 1300 mi freeway solo trip in a Ford F150 and am wondering if I can use my 
K2 running through a MFJ949E tuner into a Radio Shack CB/10m magmount to keep 
me company and try mobiling. How critical is it to ground that magmount at its 
base to the truck body? I haven't tried this before an if it is likely 
unworkable, I'll leave it all home. Any advice before tommorrow AM appreciated.
