Hi Bob,
a Fluke is great and very sturdy, I've been trying to wreck one for 15
years, no luck so far !
On the other hand, a cheaper one would leave money towards a pic based
LC meter kit, also very handy. As allways, you pays your money etc.
I bought a couple of $3.50 DVMs wich were on offer at the local
supermarket of all places. They came with a 9V block battery and proved
to be very accurate ! They ended up as voltage and current meters in my
lab. power supply, still working fb after 2 years.
