This message if for the gang at Elecraft.

I put together a K2 (2111) with the noise blanker and SSB adapter option and
it works with no complaints. I finally plugged in the new chip and firmware
2.01f and again no complaints. But I stumbled on a small problem with the
firmware, at least with my chip. Here is what I noticed. While in the
"Test" mode and with "AutoDet" on or off, if the "INP" selection is "HAND"
for the type of keyer used a message can not be recorded. Only a beep is
heard and no memory location display will come up. It works fine for PDLn
and PDLr. Playback of messages works fine with "INP" set to "HAND".

So the question is it only my chip or a bug in the software? If it is
either, I am not planning on changing the chip. I am happy the way it is.

As a last note, I would like to say that you guys at Elecraft have done a
fantastic job with that K2. I am very happy with it. I used a Textronix
DC509 to calibrate the K2 counter and its as close as its going to get. To
calibrate the BFO's I used the downloaded Spectrogram program available.

           Sincerly,

            John N6VYM
