If you have some kind of antenna analyzer that will let you look at
reflected power/swr, try this.
Disconnect the 160m option and remove it from the K2. At the PA end of the
low-pass filter, temporarily solder a 51 ohm resistor. Connect your
analyzer at the antenna end of the LPF and see what reflected power or SWR
you see as you sweep across the 160m band. I had to remove a few turns on
my toroids to get the optimum response.

Subject: [Elecraft] K2 - 160m -3 Watts - 3 Amps
On 160 m, with 3 Watts output, my K2 needs 3 Amps. I cannot increase the
output. I also noticed that the Volts/amps are not stable on the K2 display
(between 10.9 and 12.1 Volts) on this band.
Similar problem of instability of Volts/Amps on 3.5 MHz, but on this band
max power is 11 Watts
On all the other bands power Volts/Amps are stable, power 12 Watts or more,
for 3 Amps DC.
Any idea why the 160 has a so poor performance ? (I checked the
toroids/enamel on 80-160)
