Hi Rick:
I bought the MP-1 for portable operation and took it on several day
trips. The counterpoise are not full size. You don't need a transmatch
if you have the built in antenna tuner on your K2. You just follow the
directions for adjusting the coil for the band you are operating, hit
the tune button and check your SWR. When it's close to 1.1 you transmit.
It is a simple, compact, usable portable antenna.It doesn't compare
favorably with a full size antenna. I like mine fine.
