Like John, K7FD & Jerry K6III I joined the play in the ARRL DX SSB with my
K2.
My goal for the contest was to finish my 2002 DXCC SSB for the Flying Pigs
QRP Club's 2002 QRP DXCC / WAS Challenge (
http://www.fpqrp.com/pig_dxccwas.html ). I needed 69 more countries to
complete SSB 2002 DXCC. I concentrated on multipliers and ignored number of
contacts. I was able to work 95 countries in contest for a final total of 112
countries for 2002 DXCC SSB. Once I got the 100 country, I then tried to work
100 countries in this contest, unfortunately I ran out of new multipliers and
time. Highlights were all new one for me XW0W in Laos, my second BY with
BD4IR and VQ9 on two bands. I worked almost all the multipliers I heard, but
a few did slip by VR2, OD, 9K, 9V AND 9M. As usual I noticed a big difference
in the countries in K7FD's "West Coast" log vs my Midwest log.
