[Elecraft] k2 #500 in ARRL DX SSB, 158x56

Like John, K7FD, I joined the play in the ARRL DX SSB with my K2, but
unlike John, I ran at 4.9-watts. I was Hunt-n-Pounce all the time and
just played on 10m. Worked in two sessions; 3 hours Friday night &
Saturday, then another 2 hours Sunday afternoon. Lotsa DX out there and
could usually work anything I cared to try working. Worked 5 new mults in
the last 15minutes but missed 9M6 when I discovered him with 15 seconds
to go! Totals = 158 contact in 56 countries. My antenna is a Force12 C4
at 45ft in the flat lands of Silicon Valley. Mic is the Heil BM-10c.
Lotsa strong signals were handled very well by the K2. When running with
VOX, it is a good idea to use head phones so the speaker won't be
tripping the VOX at the most inopportune moment!
