The TIP is the tip or end of the plug, usually its the solder tab connection
that appears to be right in the center of the plug looking straight at the
end, (with the black plastic cover removed).

The RING is the small ring or band just below the tip, usually this is a
small solder tab just below the solder tab for the tip. There will be in
insulator above it (to insulate from the tip), and just below it (to
insulate from ground or sleeve).

The SLEEVE is the long portion of the plug that is normally at ground
potential the solder connection for this is usually part of the cable clamp.

Hi Rich. Will you please describe to me the three intities of the Stereo
plug: the tim, sleeve, and the ring. I can't find them in the manual,
nor can I find a CW section. I am losing my capabilities as the night
progresses. I do appreciate you help. \
