I've just checked my K2 (standard, not KI6WX filter modified) serial 1892.
My S-meter is calibrated for S9 = 50uV. I injected a signal 40dB higher in
level than 50uV and can confirm a weak signal is present out to approx +/- 5
KHz. The signal is more noticable if the level is +60dB. The signal doesn't
indicate on the S-meter but is audible. Signal generator, non synthesized
Marconi 995 (1964 vintage commercial signal generator). Isn't this the
problem that John's filter mod improves?

The receiver was in "Perf" option with the pre-amp switched out.
