To simulate a set of paddles for testing, get a stereo plug and solder three
wires to it--tip, ring and sleeve.  That gives you a dit, dah and gnd
contact.  Shorting the dit lead to ground should give you dits, and shorting
the dah lead to  ground should give you dahs.  Wouldn't want to operate this
way, but it's fine for testing.

I only have a "straight Key" at this point to test with. I don't have a
paddle keyer. I can't get this section to work. I may have miswired
anything (ex. the straight key in to the "stereo (2 circuit) plug.
Several of the steps seem to work, but I get "no" "dots and dashes"
through to my earphones.

Any suggestions please.
