To use a straight key you either need to use the diode arrangement as shown
in the "CW Operation" section of the manual OR use a STEREO plug with the
key wired to the TIP and SLEEVE.  There should  be no connection on the
RING. You then need to select INP HAND via the menu.

I only have a "straight Key" at this point to test with. I don't have a
paddle keyer. I can't get this section to work. I may have miswired
anything (ex. the straight key in to the "stereo (2 circuit) plug.
Several of the steps seem to work, but I get "no" "dots and dashes"
through to my earphones.

Any suggestions please.
