[Elecraft] Volume increase wanted

I'm with Dan on this one. That some are saying they have plenty of audio
then relatively speaking I must have fairly low audio output on my K2 as
well. With the preamp off, in an otherwise quiet environment and using the
internal speaker I have to turn AF gain to at least 12 to be able to hear
much of anything 'effectively'. Even using full cup headphones I can crank
the audio gain up to max and it's not the least bit uncomfortable.

I've done the headphone mod (parallel R35/36 w/ 22 ohm resistors) and this
makes it at least adequate for listening using 8 ohm (Radioshack 'Scanner'
and other) headphones. It's a bit louder/better plugging the headphones
into the rear speaker out but not by much. I know the low impedance isn't
helping but it doesn't explain the low speaker volume and/or low audio
output overall.

Not wanting to blast the audio but I sure am curious why others apparently
have a normally higher audio out than me & Dan. Obviously something is at
least 'different' (if not wrong) with my K2 relative to others and I'd like
to figure out what it is. It's bugging the bejesus outta me. I've looked at
the reflector archives, seen others report the same issue but no ideas why
or fixes.
