[Elecraft] I am very frustrated in my K1-4 construction, and need advice/help.

I have finished with the K1 RF board, the F1-4 Filter board,
and the front panel.  I have hit a "brick
wall" with allignment and testing of the completed unit. I don't have
the the test equipment that I know how to use and/or don't have the user
manuals for. I am having components break off from the boards (ex. U5 8
volt-regulator), which is very frustrating. I can get an initial
receiver alignment for the 7 mHz band, but not for the other 3 bands. I
fear that I am becoming very frustrated due to my lack of experience,
plus I have not found any help in my area with respect to my
construction. 

I have resistance and voltages measurements for the RF Board Part I;
Alignment and Test  Part I and Part II (with KFL1-4 manual foor 4-band
module receiver and transmitter alignment). I fail to succeed in both
the receiver and transmitter alignment portions. 

I have purchased the following:
  (1). A yeasu FT-707 HF transceiver that has been recondition,  and
  (2). A used military signal generator. At present I have not received
the user's manual.

I have recently built an RF Probe from the schematic in the Elecraft
Owner's manual. I am trying to use this without success at this point. 

I would like to finish this construction project personally at this
poing, but I am approaching the level of frustration where I need to
scream for "help".   Advice will be appreciated.
