[Elecraft] SSB How do I adjust audio?

Glenn,
I'm not certain what you really mean by "moving the filter a little further
away from the center", because with SSB you do not normally want to 'center'
the filter as you would for CW. The filter bandpass should be centered
between the lower and upper audio frequencies that you want to
transmit/receive. In most cases, the center of the SSB passband should be
about 1300 Hz.
When using Spectrogram for SSB, I set markers for 300 Hz and 2300 Hz and
adjust the BFO so that the corners of the passband on the OP1 filter are as
close to these two markers as I can get them. Sometimes it takes a bit of a
compromise, but for most voices, these corner frequencies are very close to
correct.
I once have had muffled audio on transmit caused by RF in the shack (I was
operating with an attic antenna about 15 feet from the K2 at the time - no
wonder I had problems!!!). If you suspect anything like that, you might
want to connect a counterpoise wire for the band(s) you are having trouble
with.
