I too have a Rigrunner and a bag full of APP connectors and, like a
lot of you, I have had the problem with the crimper deforming the
connector to where it is difficult to insert. I simply crimp the
connector in the other direction to make it round again and reinsert
it. This makes a big difference but it sometimes still requires a
little extra force to get the connector to seat properly. This is
where a second problem arises. When extra force is used to insert the
connector, it may go in too far and run into the plastic lip that has
the character 'A' stamped on it, preventing the contact from having up
and down motion which prevents it from seating against the contact in
the other APP connector. This happened to me yesterday while I was
wiring up a 15ah battery to my K2. The connectors looked great under
a magnifying glass but there was a poor connection never the less.
Giving a tug on the wire pulled the contact back just enough to allow
it to move. Because of these two problems, I am not a fan of the APP
connectors, I would rather us Molex connectors with pins.
