Good Electrafters -

I am very new to this list but, have been enjoying all the good information
that
has been posted.  The last kit(s) I built were in 1978 when I discovered a
pair
of kits (Hallicrafters SX-140 & HT-40) at a garage sale and bought (stole)
them
for $20.00....  Now, I wish I still had them.

Anyway, I have been putting away a few dollars in anticipation of buying a
K1
kit and had a couple of questions for the list.

1.  I am considering asking for 40m and 30m as my band choices.  What would
     you recommend?

2.  What recommendations prior to actually assembling the kit would any of
    you suggest?

3.  What precautions should be taken that are not necessarily noted in the
     kit instructions?

I will have to add other options later as I can afford them, likely first
the KATU1
then possibly the battery pack.  Thanks ahead of time -
