Lynn,

First check the troubleshooting section to see what E42 means.  It may 
point you in ther right direction.

If you think it might be the KFL1-4, replace it with the original 
two-band unit and see what that does.

The know problem with earlier KFL1-4s is the trimmers (they have white 
bodies) and I've replaced all 16 of mine wiht the newer blue bodied 
trimmers.  There is a note on this at the website.

But my symptom was inadequate power out, not an E42 -- which I have 
trouble attributing to he a filter board problem.
