Many thanks to all who responed to my post.  The info 
refering to the trimmers on the filter board led me to check 
the tuning on the 20 meter filters (btw the only band 
effected).  I found that the tuning was WAY off.  I know that I 
originally did a careful job of peaking all the trimmers.  All I 
can assume is that they somehow got way off peak over 
time.  Anyway, after re-peaking them my little buddy is back 
purring like a kitten with full 5+ watts on all bands.  For now 
all is well but I will consider replacements if it continues to 
happen.
