Hi all!

I'm the proud builder of K2 #2715. Things are going
well so far.

I wanted to see if other builders have the same
experience with respect to the PLL alignment. During
the PLL reference oscillator range test, I recorded a
range of 25.31 kHz; slightly in excess of the 11.5 to 25
kHz that the manual calls for.

I went to the troubleshooting section, and followed each
step, verifying that each component associated with Q19
was the correct value and properly installed. Elecraft
support stated that it ws odd to have an oscillator with
TOO MUCH range; a conclusion I came to when I read the
troubleshooting section. That section seemed to be
written for cases where there is too little range.

Anyway, Gary, at Elecraft support suggested I may remove
either X1 or X2, and that the removed crystal may not be
needed in my radio. I removed X2, repeated the test and
measured a PLL ref. osc. range of 11.6 kHz; barely
within elecraft standards.

Anyone got any ideas whether I should:
1) Leave X2 out of the radio, and accept 11.6 kHz range
2) Install X2 and accept 25.31 kHz, or
3) Look for another problem/solution

Any opinions???
