Hi K2'ers & K1'ers

Just this message to say that my K2 #644 is now QRO with a brand new KPA100
under the top cover.

I needed 22 hours of assemblying time to get a fully functionning kit,
without any trouble.As usual, a lot of time is required (at least for me !)
to read a read again every step described in the manual in order to be sure
to fully understand them, and to avoid any future desoldering/soldering
operations : see below !!.

I encountered only a small difficulty after completing the VFO ALC
modification which is proposed with the KPA100 kit. It requires 4 new
components on the K2 main RF board : 3 replacements and 1 new component.
After the modification, I loosed the TX power ... After some good advices
from Gary, I found the culpritt : the linear pad between C154 and a
connected resistor was cut from the circular pad at one of C154 lead :
effect : no more VFO TX signal and nothing on all the TX line. I need only
the RF probe and a DVM to find the fault; the faulty pad was very difficult
to see with a magnifying glass .. I repaired it with a 5 mm long component
lead.

I am now waiting for the KAT100 !!
