It sounds like it's time to do some signal tracing with an o'scope or an
RF probe (no sig gen req'd). 

I assume you're getting a signal at TP3.

1) Signal at U4-13?

2) Signal at U6-6?

3) Signal at U6-7?

4) Signal at T5 pin 2?

5) Signal at Q18 source (T5 pin 4)?

6) Signal at U3-3?

If you don't have an o'scope or an RF probe, you might try using the K2's
internal freq counter to probe the above points.
