[Elecraft] Low audio on K1 s/n 1253

Well I found the problem, it was the speaker. I used a different one
and life is good again. I would never had thought that a simple speaker
change would make that much difference in audio level, I can understand
how a cheap speaker can make it sound poor. Seems that Elecraft should
look into a bit better speaker for the K-1. This one sure leads one to
believe that there is something wrong with the audio stages.
Thanks to all those that pitched in and helped out here.

Steve:
You definitely have a problem in your K1 as there should be enough audio
to
be heard in a large nosie room at only the 12 Oclock position of the AF
Gain
control. This is not the case with the K2's as they do have low audio.
I
would look for some problem like maybe you have the wires reversed on
the
speaker or a bad speaker. Try connecting another speaker to your K1.
