[Elecraft] OT: PW-1/MP-1 question

OK, thanks Rod for the quick reply.  Upon further examination of the web
diagram for the MP-1, I see that the counterpoise attaches off the
mounting clamp.  Consequently, the clamp has to be electrically connected.
 So that answered the first half of my fuzzy question.
For the antenna I'm building, however, I still don't think the
ground-mounting rod electrical connection is required, since I'll always
be using a counterpoise.
