Nice theory but I wouldn't get too wrapped up in it.  Sometimes an indicator
light is just and indicator light.  Having the last segment of the bargraph
illuminate to indicate Split or RIT/XIT is no different than the RIT/XIT LED on
the K1 or many other rigs.  It might be a little better if it was physically
separated from the bargraph but that isn't possible.
